You know what they don't make like they used to anymore? Summer tunes.
Seriously, think about it - all the summery dancey tunes you love are from at least 7-8 year ago, right? I've been listening to a Spotify playlist I made myself that has a few crackers on it - Bran Van 3000's Drinking in LA, LEN's Steal My Sunshine, OutKast's Ms Jackson, Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince to name but a few. Also, I feel very old upon realising how long ago those songs came out, but that's for another post.
Although, now that I've said that I feel the need to correct myself - there are a few great summery songs that are more recent that I've also got on the playlist, most of which are by bands you probably won't have heard of. Fight Like Apes and Jape have a few brilliant songs on it:
FLA's Jake Summers is a fantastically mental and catchy wee tune, as is Floating by Jape. Check them out, they're destined for great things.
